At Brave New Church, we've got you covered when it comes to modern, mobile-friendly website design, but what of your other technology needs? Well, we have one recommendation there, too. Get Chromebooks for everyone. They're cheap, they work, and they let you work together. Once Google puts its power behind something, you should take note. We use Google Drive for all of our needs, and Chromebooks are wonderful devices if you transition to Google as your main office provider (and you should).
Now, the fact that Chromebooks are cheap means that some people might think they're disposable. Take it from someone who still uses a 10 year-old laptop: you don't need to throw technology away. A small investment in protecting your Chromebook is a wise investment. Most plastic hard cases look pretty. Most soft cases are cumbersome. Chromebooks are actually quite rugged, save for the flexible screen, and replacing the whole device because of a broken screen really isn't what you want to plan on doing. Therefore, you have to find a cheap solution to protect your cheap investment. The best we've seen is the Cranium Hard Case Screen Protector. While it might not get the attention of the iPearl or have the marketing power of Case Logic or Targus, the Cranium, like the Chromebook, simply works.
The Cranium virtually eliminates screen flex, and that's the most vulnerable part of the Chromebook. It uses aluminum and PVC to accomplish this without adding much weight or bulk. It's also a permanent solution that is always on, meaning your students or workers won't be finding ways to eliminate its effectiveness by taking the case off in order to lighten their load. In an added bonus, the Cranium doubles as a whiteboard, which is great for classrooms of for use in presentations.
If you want to find out more, do a search. If you want to order in bulk, contact the seller directly. If your church can't afford to constantly replace computers and software, then the Chromebook equipped with a Cranium is your best option. These work with ANY Chromebook, so you'll need to specify in the order:
- Acer
- ASUS
- CTL
- Dell
- Haier
- HP
- Lenovo
- Nexian
- Samsung
- Toshiba
- Xolo
To order just one, try Amazon (Acer model is on Amazon).
